Jewish Kent - Kent Liberal Jewish Community

KLJC is a community of about 40 Jewish families living all over Kent.   We are affiliated to Liberal Judaism and use its prayer book Siddur Lev Chadash.  We also follow Liberal Jewish practice in relation to Jewish identity and conversion.

Formed in 1991, the community recently celebrated its Bat Mitzvah with a well attended celebratory service.

  • Services are held at a wheelchair-accessible location in central Maidstone on one Saturday each month and on the High Holydays. The atmosphere is informal and there is Kiddush after the service followed by refreshments.
  • There are regular Cheder classes.
  • There is a communal Seder on the second night of Passover.
  • There are regular social events including an annual barbecue.
  • Members receive a monthly newsletter.
  • All Jewish men and women and their families will receive a warm welcome in our community.
